Over the past few years, there have been people that have openly spoken out against concrete resurfacing procedures. We could have stayed silent on the matter, but we really felt that there was no reason why we could not entertain both sides of the argument. In other areas of the site, we have talked about the fact that not every single surface is going to be a good fit for this type of service. To be honest as a company we don’t feel bound by the limitations that concrete resurfacing offers. Since we can also go through all sorts of repairs resurfacing is more of a way to refinish driveway and other surfaces. What we do is repair, then resurface or refinish!
 
When Is It Time To Think About Resurfacing?
 
What we have been trying to say is that you could repair without actually resurfacing. There are other things that you can do to improve the look of your driveway and pool deck. Having said that there is really no time frame that you have to follow. If your own driveway gave your car a flat tire because you had to pass over broken pieces of concrete or crack that turned into a creator we just have to say that it is time!
 
Cost And Benefits   
 
This is a problem that we want to address because people are going to go to the store and find that a bag of concrete mix is less expensive than resurfacer and they can be left looking very puzzled. The entire process that goes into placing and creating any type of concrete structure whether they be driveways or not is a lot more expensive. Just buying the concrete is not going to be the only thing that you are going to have to do to create a driveway!
 
Stamped Concrete Driveways & Resurfacing 
 
We could make the argument that going with a stamped concrete overlay is a more cost-effective option than stamping the concrete itself. There are many different types of concrete overlay that can mimic all sorts of designs. That being said applying this type of concrete overlay to stamped concrete may not be the best idea. If you already have a normal concrete surface in place though and you are looking for that look that stamped concrete can bring resurfacing may be your best option. Of course, this is all generally speaking. We would have to come in and take a look at each situation to determine what the best plan of action may be!
 
Success Is In Being Able To Follow The Right Process
 
Without a doubt resurfacing is a process that is going to take a lot less time than it would take to rebuild your driveway. Having said that, being able to follow the process correctly is going to be key to the long term success of the project. We talk about this quite a bit with clients because we may ask you to allow it to dry out or you may have to wait after we thoroughly clean the driveway to get started with the actual resurfacing. Some patience may be required and we just want to make sure you know that!
